            Length:

  • Min. 8'
  • Max. 12' preferred 10'.  (POPLAR Max. 16')

      Diameter:

  • Min.   3" (8cm) inside the bark;
  • Max. 24" (60.96 cm) inside the bark.

       Specifications:

  • No bolt shall have more than 6" (15 cm) of sweep over its entire length (10 feet);
  • No bolt shall contain a crook or a fork;
  • Wood evidently over 3 months old may be rejected;
  • Bolts manufactured from dead or burnt trees are not acceptable;
  • Hardwood bolt shall contain max. 50% rot;
  • All limbs, knots, stubs and projections shall be cut flush with the body of the bolt;
  • Load refusal: Loads that have an excessive amount of defective wood will be rejected;
  • Loading quality: All loads must have a rounded top lower than the stakes. No cross piling, mud, brush, etc., will be allowed in the load. All trucks must have a min. of four (4) solid stakes;
  • Trailers loaded lengthways require 2' of clearance between tiers.

      Length:

  • Min. 8'
  • Max. 10'. 

      Diameter:

  • Min. 3" (8cm) inside the bark;
  • Max. 24" (60.96 cm) inside the bark.

       Specifications:

  • Bolt must have less than 12" of sweep over its entire length;
  • No fork or dog-legs;
  • All limbs must be cut flush;
  • No burned wood;
  • No bolts containing foreign materials (i.e. Fencing, spikes, etc.)
  • All loads must have a rounded top, level or lower that the rop of the stakes;
  • No cross piling, mud, brush, etc., will be allowed in the load;
  • All trucks must have a minimum of four solid stakes;
  • Trailers loaded lengthways require 2' of clearance between tiers;
  • Flat-bed trailers must be equipped with 20cmor 8" risers for each bunk;
  • All trucks require a headboard. The headbord must extend 12" above the cab of the truck, any damage occurring to truck cabs not equipped with adequate headboard, AV Group will not be reponsible;
  • Loads may not extend forward past the headboard;
  • Stakes must be positioned to provide the loaders access to the center of each bunk;


       SAFETY:

  • Drivers must wear all required personal protective equipment while outside their trucks on AV Group property. This includes CSA certified Hard Hat, steel toe boots, reflective clothing and safety glasses;
  • Trailer must be cleaned of all debris before leaving site in the designated clean off area;
  • Drivers will follow instructions from AV staff and obey all safety orders while on company property;
  • Self-loading trucks are not permitted to drive with their boom straight up after their load has been unloaded. All truckers are to pull away from the log deck or the loader (-100') allowing the next truck in line to commence unloading and lower their booms; i.e. away from the potential of falling  logs.
